Seen it a couple of times. Found its generally when the car has changed hands a lot in a short space of time and its been taxed again in error.

As above, check that the June one is valid and if it is, cash in the other ;) ;)

Embarrassingly did it myself a few years back, tax was out end of Dec, so did it online before xmas, early Jan getting over the big hangover thought must get some tax for the car, post office job, few days later another Tax Disc arrives in the post. Sort of thing that happens when youve got too many cars on your hands.

Trip to the local DVLA is the best and quickest way to sort it.

you want be sure which one is valid because the one that was bought last is the valid one and the other wont be valid as the moment u buy a new one the old one is not valid any more. (i believe u can still cash it in tho).

very good point, i hadnt even looked at cash amount will check in the morning  :y
on the dvla website it says that car is licensed-------liability 01/03/2012 so i take that as meaning the tax is due on that date?
will check the cash amount though  ;)

well the cash amount doent make a difference say you bought a 12 month tax disc and the 5 months later u though u only had a 6 month disc and bought anouther 6 month disc you would loose out on that 1 month as when you buy the new one it invalidates the old one what ever date the web site says is when it runs out :)

The point on the cash was to see if it had been previously registered in a different class, then changed, and for some reason the old disk not surrendered :y

had a look and there is a cash amount   £260

as per my previous post does the "liability" date on the dvla website mean the date the next should be taxed?
