Judging by the plume of smoke in that second video I'd say the engine was still intact and running as it sat on the ground, albeit, no doubt, not very happy with life. I guess that means it wasn't ejecting a mass of atomised fuel/air mix looking for a source of ignition, mercifully.

It looks as if the gearbox was wrenched up at an angle and torn from its mountings, this would I guess potentialy cause the tail to fail.
