2011 Kawasaki ZX-10R
« on: 23 November 2011, 20:28:40 »

Just been reading about this nice little runabout.. ;)

According to the stats, it pumps out 197 BHP .......which rises to a mind-boggling 207 BHP with the Ram Air system working fully.... :o :o

And I thought my quaint little FJ 1200, with a limp-wristed 125 BHP, was faaaaassssstttt.... back in the day.... :o :o

But with so many dozey/inattentive/homicidal motorists and speed cash-registers (seemingly) lurking behind every bush and road-sign......is there any fun to be had on two wheels these days? :-\

Im guessing the dry weight is around 170kg.............FUNNNNNNN. :)
The first model did just over 100mph in 1st gear. This one may well be a bit quicker. ;D Just as well Im not a wealthy man really. ::)

Track days are the way forward if you have the cash and dont live hundreds of miles from a track. It can be addictive though.A mate of mine blew almost £30k in less than a year (10 years ago)doing many track days and changing his bike every other week.

I believe it comes with some sort of rudimentary traction control system. Perhaps this means it will spit you off less often..... ::) ::) ;)

...a throttle control? ;)

I'm lucky, I'm on the doorstep of Durham and Northumberland, which God made as playgrounds...

That would need to be binned straight away.Shouldnt be allowed on bikes imo.The whole thrill (and skill) is translating the feel of the chassis to the right wrist.

I work for a Kawasaki main dealer, a customer came in on Monday and asked for a price on the exhaust cans for a 57 plate ZX-10R.

No downpipes etc...just the silencers, £516.33 plus VAT...and that's each !!!

Good question Cem, but sorry, I have no idea on how the prices compare.
A few years ago I remember seeing photos of several bikes, just a couple of years old and in good condition, abandoned on the streets around a Japanese bike dealer.
Dealers were not interested in taking them in as part-exchange.

I think a geiger counter would be an essential bit of kit if importing bikes/cars from Japan these days...  :o ;)
