i think i`ll just sit in the corner with me coke and packet of cheese an onion crisps..i`m still none the wiser :-[

do you mind if i share with you......

looks clever but bugger me if i know what it does

EPROM = Electronic Programmable Read Only Memory...is that right???
PROM - Programmable Read Only Memory
EPROM - Erasable Programmable Read Only Memory (normally UV light to erase, hence window on such chips)
EEPROM - Electrically Erasable PROM

Technically this programmer is for EEPROMS.

So that heap of wires is for putting new software and/or data (eg, fuel map) onto one of the Omega ECUs ::)

TB, You should have used a professional Electronics Engineer to build that for you. I happen to know of a couple that are shortly to be out of work.

PS, you missed the Write Only Memory as invented by Burroughs.

Now there's a blast from the past, I started in IT working for a third party maintenance company who's Director and most of the engineers were X Borroughs / Sperry / Convergent Tech / Unisys engineers.... I've spent many hours (usually early hours of the morning!) messing about with A5 and A10 Mainframes  ::)

That's too good for landfill.

Chuck it up into a tree. It's nearly spring. Something's bound to nest in it!  ;D

Well, that ain't going to program a 27c256, so it's not the MV6's map. :-/

When you're done programming your EEPROM, try it in your GPS. That many 5cm antenna all in the same place should boost your reception a treat  :)

I have a proper programmer for 27 series (though have to boot off a DOS disk to use), though not sure it can do 32kB chips....
