Sky F1
« on: 25 November 2011, 12:36:59 »

Yes I know, I've heard all the rants before. But I thought people who have Sky would like to know the plans we have for F1:

Firstly there will be a new dedicated F1 HD Sports Channel, this will be free to anyone currently with SkySports 1&2 or the HD pack.

Every race live: From March to November, every moment of each race will be live in HD, without the interruption of adverts.

Live Practice & Qualifying: Every practice and qualifying session for each Grand Prix™ will be shown live on one channel, Sky Sports F1™ HD.

Extra Content: Through Sky’s interactive service, fans can follow the action through on-board cameras, go behind the scenes with the teams in the pits, and follow race data, to take them further inside the sport.

This channel will also be made available on Sky Go, so you can watch it on the move via iPhone/iPad  :)

No details yet on presenters, but I'm hoping we have signed Martin Brundle!

Unlike TV license if you don't want it, you don't have to pay it.  ::)

This is a proper result for me!!  ;D

I already pay for Sky HD, so I should get everything without dishing out any more cash!!  :y

Now I just hope they get Martin Brundle and drop Eddie Jordan!!  ::)

Much as I love my F1, there ain't no way I'm paying for Sky Sports on top of what I already pay for my TV (Virgin package).
It should stay on the BBC or at least one of the mainstream TV channels. I'm fed up with Sky grabbing just about every popular sport and robbing you blind for the priviledge of watching it. >:( Guess I'll just be watching the odd few the BBC will be showing or the re-runs. :'(

I did see one report that said Sky were trying to get Nigel Mansell on their commentary team. ???

I totally agree with you Bob, and my 1st choice would be to have it remain on the BBC.  However, as that isn't going to happen, the next best thing for me is to have it on Sky and not have to pay extra for it.

As I live out in the sticks, I can't get any of the cable based packages, so Sky is the only option for me either way!  :y

So you already pay for TV Bob? Bet you would have been happy if Virgin signed the deal  ;)

BBC is broke & cannot afford to broadcast it. ITV was shite, it had adverts. Sky is next best thing...

Sky signed deal, pumping loads of money by launching at large cost a dedicated channel.

i agree with bob sky are getting a ripoff

How does that make any sense?

Sky are adding a totally new sport for their subscribers, therefore current subscribers are getting more value for money? You paid same money last year, this year you get F1 for free!  ::)
