I have registered my support for Clarkson at BBC - how could this be taken as serious as opposed to showmanship

The thing I can't understand is why all the other comedians aren't getting the same flack as Clarkson.

Oh.. Er... They didn't think he was a serious motoring journalist, did they?

I suppose the PC yogurt-knitting brigade generally stick to public transport, so perhaps they wouldn't know any better?

I watched the One show last night......and everything Clarkson said was 'tongue in cheek'......funny how the complainers didnt complain about all his other comments, which were obviously 'jokey' but this particular comment they decided was serious and not a joke........they wanna grow up!

To my mind, he is a self opinionated tit that likes nothing more than progressing Brand Clarkson, in much the same way as Jordan and other wannabees.

Granted, he presents a TV show that has a very tenuous link to the original programme that is watched by many but he is far from the god like figure that many hold him out to be.

Remember though the old old saying.

Opinions are like arsoholes. Everybody has one......... ;D

A lot of the reporting of the incident only covers the 'shoot them' bit, not the bit before, that clearly makes it very tongue in cheek.

But God forbid I suggest that our British media are sensationalist idiots

As far as I can tell, the main bone of contention was a 'joke' he made later in the programme about people who commit suicide under trains. I missed that but the earlier jape was both funny and balanced.

But I'm with Broocie....he's still a tit.

I think the bloke needs to reinvent himself. He was a bit of a cult figure but he's a bit old now to be getting away with that sort of school boy humour.
Personally i think all three of them on top gear have gone past their sell by dates.

yep he is, but he is totally UN pc and good at what he does.
I just love people like that  :y

The people of this country take themselfs far to seriously.
Some people need to be a victim because it makes them feel better about life when the soft tinkers of this world shower them with sympathy  ;)
They wouldn't be a problem if he didn't know camron.

Boll*cks to unison   ;)
Long live Clarkson  :y :y

Of course Broocie, he is a bit self opinionated and outspoken at times but at the end of the day he is actually rather intelligent and probably more so than many of our so called politicians. However, at the end of the day he's an entertainer with a great sense of humour enjoyed by millions worlwide, and thats what he does best. I certainly would never consider him "god like", I just take him for what he is and enjoy his antics and banter.............and yes, he probably would make a better PM than the idiots we've endured over the years. ::)

I sure as heck wouldn't go that far. Entertaining at times, but can only do one act ;)

i love his ridiculous metaphors. i love the sense that he's still mentally 9 years old and also that he can't do anything remotely useful  ;D

i've read quite a few of his books and although they seem to follow an obvious trend they are such good reads.
