i dont like him one bit stopped watching top gear because of that thing well i think he should be sacked better blokes than him out there
...for presenting top gear? The popularity of that show, and the comparative failure of other tg presenters from the original show, would suggest he is perfect

... for the job, i mean ;D

Top Gear makes oodles of money for the BBC. Top Gear Live is very well attended and tickets for the recording of TG are like hen's teeth. You may not like him, but clearly many do (myself included). Why should he be sacked just because you don't like him?  :o ::)

Not saying the fella should be sacked by any manner of means.

However.....

He obviously has a big brain, a big ego, a big head and a big mouth. He just needs to join them together in better relative percentages to get a bigger following.

By & large Clarkson makes the same kind of comments that groups of blokes in the pub/at work make to each other (how many un-PC jokes have you recieved about Gary Speed?). It's just that he makes similar comment to the public at large! If Clarkson is on telly, Have I got News etc you all know that he'll make some un-PC comment, so if you feel you're going to be offended watch something else or turn it off.
As said earlier on in the thread, the trouble with some people is that they're not happy unless they've something to be offended at or moan about something.

Brain, ego, head or mouth isn't doing his bank balance any harm so far!!  ;) ;) ;)

It would do his bank balance more good if he thought more before making a comment.

I doubt it. His appeal is the fact that he can come out with an acerbic comment at any moment - and he's not a luvvie. There is no-one else on TV that. If he started being terribly sensible poeple would switch off in their droves.  ;)

Not sure about that. How much would it cost to buy the publicity that he's generated since tea time yesterday?  ;) ;) ;)

Sure I will be corrected here but I saw this as a big dig at the BBC and their OTP drive to be balanced (dull) in their presentation

Said "absolutly fantastic" about the strike and then made the comment based on the requirement for balance.

He has said and written worse than this and I think sometimes actually meant it. In this case not

i couldn't agree more with andy b...... if he did think before speaking it would make him less comical!

i genuinely dont think he's a very good reviewer of cars but we dont watch TG for that. we watch it for a bit of escapism and dreams and being little kids for an hour.
