People are missing the point.Top Gear Clarkson is a persona, its not the real him.He can be (when he wants to be) a good, thoughtful journalist who is capable of good quality work. His programme on Isambard Kingdom Brunel being a case in point.
He gets on my nerves sometimes, but overall Im glad we have him. There must always be a place for outrageous, right wing knee jerk reactionary people on TV,even if it is an exaggerated persona.Otherwise we will be left with namby pamby, lefty,PC tedious bores - which is exactly what we get 90% of the time.

.............the reason why the TG escapism is needed!!!  :y

i don't think he's the best car reviewer by far; he seems to twist certain things to sound good or bad, depending on what he wants, that aren't actually right.

having said that they all do it... hammond's review of the mustang being a prime example when he talked about the ''neat'' horsepower figure of 500  ::)
