Golf ball dent in roof..
« on: 01 December 2011, 14:50:27 »

My mig got hit today by a golf ball. A small dent infront and slightly left of the areal by about 4 inches. I intend on getting some dent removal tools for Christmas and sorting it myself, but how easy is it to get behind the roof lining?

No need to hassle posting a link I'm about to check the how to guides, see if it's there, I just wanted a rant, lol.

If it was my car, I would insert said Golf ball into backside of the kind individual who struck it!

I'm sure they would like it back  :y

Spot on! Found the removal guide and bookmarked it, by the look of it I can get away with removing the rear panels and easing down out the way. Just need to practice first on an old motor.

If I knew who done it I'd fix it and charge them £75 with my name heading the bill paper! Qiuds in  :y

They can spit it back out when they get to the green, if I ram it up there far enough!!

In the 1970s I was playing at Dukinfield Golf Club and hit a shot out of bounds (row of houses along side the fairway) which hit a Skoda. I took another off the tee and of course played same shot and hit it again.

Went round to apologise (and checking my insurance) but owner said - "oh it doesn't matter - forget it". Some plastic bits had come off it. I retrieved the golf balls and continued!!

Skodas and people have moved on - would be a different story today.

Truth be told, it's my daily slog- a workhorse. I'll sort it myself hence no cost and no point kicking up a stink as they have washed their hands of all responsibility. I'm just glad I weren't in the cav, or someone else's car.

Similar thing, I once was having a golf lesson off the pro.

Took out my driver, had a few practice swings, tee'd up, sliced the ball over the hedge onto the fast moving dual carriageway.

The ball went straight through a petrol tankers windscreen, the driver, swerved accross the dual carriageway into a bus coming the other way, the bus left the road and ploughed into the front of a house, completely demolishing it.

I said to the pro. 'Christ, what do I do now?'

He said, 'If you adjust your grip on the club, like so, it shouldn't happen again.'.

We used to live on the boundary of a golf course. Tee was just behind our back garden. No problem with balls but got the odd club over the hedge when it was wet. (why do golfers play in the rain? Beats me. They must be desperate to get out of the house. ;D) My mum used to attempt to sell them back to the golfers over the fence. :D
