I work as a Support Worker in a local Psyciatric Hospital. Looking after people suffering from various mental problems ranging from high end Aspergers, Schizophrenia, Personality Disorders, Psycopathy and many more.

Most, if not all are detained under section 3 of the Mental Health Act 1983 as a danger to themselves and the public.

So if you want restraining or Accuphasing I am your man  ;D ;D ;D

A very rewarding job...............I think  :y :y

A really interesting job.  I was a learning disability community physio many years ago and had to cover the psychiatric ward from time to time.  I found it really interesting but after being battered frequently don't think I could do it as a job.  Too exhausting avoiding flying toasters! :(

I deal with the same people. Sadly not while detained under the Mental Health Act... ;)

I manage a large drug substance misuse treatment service in the north west, used to be really satisfying but given the 'dangle berries' the government has made of health provision and it's funding it's now driven by stats like a carpet sales team.

Ignore my pessimism it's a rewarding job thats filled with tragedies and succeses sometimes in equal measure

I remember my days working in Psych fondly!  We had an eccentric old man brought in who appeared perfectly fine until he informed us he  had atomic balls! ;D . He wittled on for days about secret this and secret that and was paranoid about the russians listening. We laughed it off as a normal delusion.............. until the security service came and took away their missing top boffin! :o :o :o :o

right now we're moving the major components into Siebel's OBIEE and Oracle's Business Objects.
Ah, you might be able to help.  Have you ever installed Siebel to be under Oracle (as in Sun) Cluster 3.3 control?

Good stuff Andy, they are one of our ( lesser ;)) competitors, most of my best staff started out as volunteers and it is probably the best way into the field.
