basic question on the Omega

Hi all,

First a little background,
I have just returned to the UK from Australia where I drove a V6 Holden Commodore.

Question is…
The Omega is basically the same with one vital difference. Some of them have a small 4 cylinder motor.

Given that this is a larger car how well does such a small engine cope?
And what RPM will one sit on while traveling at around 70mph?

If you get a 4-pot, you'll always want two more cylinders. Unless, like some members, you're weird/ secure in your masculinity/ delusional (delete as applicable).

but the one very big thing that is pointing me to a 4 is insurance costs here, hell, at moment i got a temp car..(pug 306) and it costs more to insure than me V6 i had back in Aus.

How do & welcome along  :y :)

The only resemblance the Omega has to the Commodore is the looks, the Holden is larger.

just a little larger maybe

The one big point I like on the Omega is the rear wheel drive, hate the fwd junk.
= more trouble as the wheel coupling to the body is not as strong (as is steers as well as drives)

Also law of physics, it is easier too push than pull… :)

just starting to get used to piddly little cars and VERY expensive fuel,

so the Omega models were LS - GL - GLS - and CD, in that order?
