Lpg filler
« on: 12 December 2011, 23:05:55 »

Noticed a slight vapor leak visually from under the nozel when filling up with lpg, along with slight smell of gas. It seems really critical theres not the slightest tension on the pump hose to pull the nozel off centre. Get it spot on and the vapour "mirage" stops.

Filler is set on tow bar with barbs level(iirc) meaning only a quarter turn on the filler available to lock on. I know others have the same filler location, is this slight vapour leak normal? Didnt notice it on similar in bumper set up on previous car.  ???

Yeah, can sometimes see a bit of vapour escaping around the filler. Likely to be a cr@p seal in the nozzle, and, of course, they always make sure the tensioning cable on the pipe is as short as they can make it.. Until someone breaks it. ::)

Yeah, this ones not bad on slack. Its just the weight of the hose pulling it afaict.

Can you get a full half turn on your nozel? Wonder if another 90 degrees rotaion might help?  :-\

They only turn 90 degrees... If they turned 180 they'd pop off again  ;)

Quite common for the pump nozzle seal to be past its best IME ;)

Could be just your filler hose connection freezing up behind the input valve this time of year due to a non air tight seal?

Not noticed with either of mine.  Lever type filler only gets 1/8th turn on TBE due to the numberplate
