Happy Christmas from new member

Hi Everyone

Well new job in the new year = new car
so have taken the step of purchasing a nice 2.6 v6 cdx.

It's on 56K FVSH, can anyone tell me any issues I should
keep my eyes out for. Heard the tensioner is suspect and reqs replacing
every 40 k...

Also what mileage per gallon and total lifetime can
you get from these cars providing reg maint is carried out???

Heard that some guys have starship enterprise miles
under their belt / bonnet...

Anyway glad to of found this site and look forward to
chatting...

Good luck with the 2.6 and there are a few omega owners not too far from you as well as elite Pete who does some great work/cambelts etc on your doorstep.

Keep your eyes peeled for a Chester meet early next year :y

The Cambelt & Tensioners need replacing every 40,000 miles or 4years which ever comes first.
Also what mileage per gallon and total lifetime can
you get from these cars providing reg maint is carried out???

Between 22-27 mpg knocking about. 30-35 mpg on a motorway run.
Alot depends on how the car gets driven. If you are heavy footed expect less. If the car is not serviced, timing out, multi rams not working, again expect less.
I have worked on an ex cop car which had 319,000 miles.
