Hi to all...help please...my 2000    2.2 omega has had a problem with a bit of a lumpy tick over......how ever that does not effect the general running of it at all....on monday i did 200 mile trip in it no problem...used it yesterday no problem....however to day when i went to star it     it was very difficult to start and was only firing on two plugs.....i changed the coil pack no change  took out the plugs to find that from the front of the engine...number 1    and number two plugs were black and not firing at all..so i changed all four plugs and still no difference.missing on the same two plugs......it does not use  water or oil   and the dipstick is perfectly clean oil  no white stuff on it...it will not run to have someone to put a machine on it....any ideas as to what would make it run like this.....i was thinking of getting a new camshaft sensor to begin with...unless you can tell me different......any ideas or help will be gratefully received....thanks ray.

have you tried using the old coil pack?

yes  re used old coil pack and the same fault was still there...thanks...

If your having problems starting now
I would suggest try the old coil pack first
If same problem could it be the knock sensor

Tried the old coil pack still the same......ok...knock sensor ????       thanks i will investigate that.... :y :y

Have you read the codes? Could well be Crank sensor about to give up the Ghost? :-\

You seem to suggest that you bought a replacement coil pack, did you buy a Bosch one? I bought a no mark coil pack and it lasted 3 weeks, replaced with Bosch and all was well..... :y Otherwise crank or Cam sensor on the way out, can take a while so may run ok at times.....

replaced camshaft sensor today it started then miss firing started again....took it for a run was ok until  i came to a junction and stopped  went to pull away and dropped back to two cylinders again........then decided i had had enough so i drove it spitting and farting to local garage and left him to put the tech two on it and sort it out at his leisure......easiest way in the end....

just to say that i put my car into local garage.....fault was front lamda sensor and fuel rail clips were all broken...£120 and all done....love my omega again now  :y :y

What car .....are you on about that astra you have   in that case for £120 i want 12 months tax on it...full.mot....and a mask so no one can see  me in it......... :y :y :y :y
