I have the NCDC13 Bose system with a Parrot blue tooth gizmo in my '52 plate Elite. Can I play the music on my iPhone through this system? If so, how please?

Tunnie, contrary to what you have just, so vehemently, stated, I have just been out to the car and played my iPod through the Bose system using an iTrip. It works perfectly, but thanks for trying anyway.

An iTrip is an FM transmitter as described in posts above so Tunnie was correct (but perhaps overforcefull) in his information........

Thanks, H, I requested in my OP,  "Can I play the music on my iPhone through this system? If so, how please?", however even after reading the sticky, 'FM adapter' meant nothing to me. Fortunately my daughter is here for Christmas, and, subsequent to Tunnie's somewhat unhelpful answers suggesting that it could not be done, she suggested that I try her iTrip, and Bingo! It's worth pointing out that some of us old timers are not so au fait with modern technology, so what may be obvious to some often passes us by.

Also if you want decent music, get a decent one, the iTrip's are crap. Dave DND does a far better one...

To (hopefully) fully answer - if your Parrott bypasses the HU (some models do), you could be in the realms of all sorts of trouble.  As the HU has a (phone) aux in, hopefully the phone uses that.  The iPhone isn't very good at streaming music over handsfree profile bluetooth devices.

iTrip is an FM modulator. Not a very good one either, but is dead easy to use if you can tolerate the sound quality. The one I have hear is mono as well, despite what the spec says.  If using with gayPhone, rather than gayPod, you'll probably have to switch on airplane mode on the phone due to the noise it generates.

What parrot do you have Shak?

I may be under the false impression that some parrots can transmit
music to the hu as well. Although this will have to be an emulator  not a hands free kit, some of which have an option to hard wire the input to the fm airial in. Hence improving quality compared to the over the air cheapo ones etc.

You may have a parrot hands free, or a parrot emulator.... Perhaps?

I'm not sure of the wiring into the HU, as the unit was already fitted when I bought the car. It is an iPhone 3G.

Thanks Chris, it is a Parrot 3200LS Hands-free - sort of - in that once you have connected to  the number on the Parrot you can talk through the mic.

afaict thats not music capable. Worth a try.
Other parrot models are. Not sure how they connect to the head unit though. Dont apper to emulate as thought.

Hello,
First sorry for my poor english.
I manage to connect  my mp3 player trough Cd changer (siemens2013) by wire.
1) remove NCDC2013 from the car
2) separate the CD changer from the main unit and disconnect the cable between .
3) cut  only wire no. 1 and 4 that link cd charger to main unit (this wires are left and right line in)
4) now welding wires no 1 and no 4 that goes to the main unit to a 3 wire stereo audio jack, i use the chassis for connect the - (negative)
5) put back the connector to the cd changer and reinstall in to the car.
No.1 wire is marked with red color
For use the line in select cd charger from the unit

By cutting this wires you cannot use anymore the cd changer, only if you put back this wires

This method is well documented on the forum, and will also damage the input section of the head unit due to the incorrect voltages being used here.

NOT TO BE RECOMMENDED !!!
