Christ, 18 years ago. My first thought was "blimey, unusual to see older blokes killing a teenager" until I thought on.

not the case the truth will never come out   and if you knew the truth i guarentee your opinion would change   this has been a joke from start to finish   how many other murdered people get a plaque  monitored by its very own 24 hr cctv paid for by taxpayers >:(     and it wasnt a racist attack

We can only go on the infomation we recieve hence the "if what we have being told about this case is true" bit.

Didn't know about the plaque and the cctv  :o

What is the story down in your neck of the woods ?

Why was this necessary then? Presumably it was being vandalised. ???

not on a open forum  but others on here know the score   unfortunately there is a media blanket on a lot of info  one day it might all come out  locals know the truth and arent happy   lets just leave it as lawrence was far from the saint the media would have you believe

it was once as locals believe it to be a joke it was put there as 2 weeks previous a young white girl was murdered about 5 mins down the road by 3 blacks and it hardly made the papers let alone a memorial

I paid scant attention to this case whilst it was current news and subsequently since , taking for granted what was reported in the media ,but after reading a comment by Millwall re the truth being more sinister I did a spot of googling and found some disturbing reportage that wasn't ,shall we say , so "front page ".
Justice has to be done ,and accordingly would seem to have been done here , but I believe there is a lot more to this subject than the public were ever told .

there is plenty of the truth on the net  but plenty that isnt  my neighbours were affected  this has never been made public as they were too scare of revenge being sought by sir lawrence and his croney duane  they moved house because of it all now they live 2 doors from me they are a lovely old couple who were traumatised and now have cctv all around there house because of what happened and very rarely leave their house unless with other people :(

Aah - the truth can be a very elusive commodity to pin down in many cases (if it ever can be).

Insofar as the facts pertaining to this murder are concerned, the truth has not necessarily been uncovered and the murderers found guilty.  A finding of guilt has been made by a jury based on the evidence put before the court by the prosecuting authorities - not necessarily evidence that had a basis in fact or reflected a true account of what actually happened but evidence the court, in the form of the jury, found to more compelling that that submitted by the defendants.

In my experience- and I’ve been involved in many such trials – there can be a marked difference between ‘the facts’ found during the course of an investigation and those presented during the course of the trial and found by the court to be of a sufficiently compelling standard to be accepted.

In the absence of a thorough understanding of the police investigation and the full nature of the evidence put before the court, it is unwise to draw conclusions about the guilt (or otherwise) of these men – especially as there have been several attempts to prosecute them for this murder.

It's been said on here on more than one occasion and not in connection with this story.

"Don't believe what you read in the Newspapers!" - They're not interested in the real truth (media), its just about what angle they can "Sell the story" the best way they can, to get people to buy their paper in the first place.

If they really did tell the truth, then history would show it to be much different than reported.
