I'll  travel if its worth it but they seem to think you can get to these places free of charge

SWMBO now works part time in the bakery of a local Asda (The Asda if you're a Scouser )just a couple of miles away, on minimum wage. But the job centre thought it was OK to send her miles away for interviews for jobs also on minimum wage. She's got her own car & her wage is additional to mine, but as you say, if you'd to get there by the none existant public transport it'd hardly be worth working there - both cost & time wise.

I have'nt worked since June and have given up looking for work as I refuse to be treated like a stranger in my own country,the first and only time I went to my local job centre I was treated with almost contempt and I certainly told them what I thought of their shite attitude. Job centres in my opinion exist only to provide employment for the people that work there as they seem to regard you as something that they trod in.Im going to be working off the books from this month if my plans work out because I'm not going to bother trying to compete with cheap foreign labour

I had the same experiance some yrs ago  and was made to feel as if I was some sort of begger that had never worked in his life.... So I  told the youngster who was trying to make me feel like I was a bit of shite to fook off  ........ Within two days I was back in work but Im sure it would be a different story in todays job market because of the shortage of jobs

Ill second that ...feel for you , been through it all and had my fair share of bad luck last year ...worked for 25yrs then lost job and treated like sht at local job centre ..walked out , travelled mile upon mile for interveiws where theres been 50-80 people applying job for £5-6 an hour then time you take the fuel out its just not worth it.

An old friend of mine said keep your nose clean and your head to the grindstone "crime dont pay" all that work in goverment have a lot to answer to and most have bagged enough away now for a comfortable retirement that we paid for
