Had a result today
« on: 20 March 2008, 17:52:58 »

A few weeks ago i purchased some H1 upgrade bulbs for my Mig from ebay.
I used them twice & on the second time one of them blew, it didn't even last half an hour.
I contacted the seller & after a few e-mails they replied- we do not give warranty on bulbs, you'll have to contact the manufacturer.
Pants i thought.
So i e-mailed Ring, & they replied with- can you supply us with a receipt, but id'e deleted all my e-mails from paypal etc, so i just thought sod it & i'll put it down to experience.
Then a few days later i received a e-mail from Ring- could i supply my name & address & they'll send me some complimentory bulbs as a good will gesture & they arrived today  :) :)

So big up to Ring Automotive  :y :y :y :y :y

very good but they should have sent them anyway, the seller is responsable for the goods not the manufacture, if this happens with any thing again,  tell them about the sale of goods act,  its great look it up on the web.  steve

Uhm, i know about the sale of goods act etc, if there's a phone # you can at least ring them & quote this, but with e-mails you just get ingnored. Give me face to face talk any day  :y :y

if the seller on ebay is a registered business seller i'm pretty sure they'd have to follow the same "laws" as high street shops, meaning that warranty or no warranty, if a brand new product goes faulty in an obviously short space of time, the seller has responsibility to deal with it!

(If Ring Automotive is a direct supplier of this seller on a trade account basis, the item would come with a warranty that the seller would be free to use anyway, but yes, big up to Ring for being so considerate!)

imagine going into a high street store for a pair of trainers that fell apart within 3 weeks of "normal" wear, you wouldnt be told to "not our problem, ring Adidas!" would you?
