Oh dear!
« on: 22 March 2008, 17:49:46 »

Took my car into the garage where my mate works so we could get a proper look at replacing the PAS pump.

No probs.

I had a quick look at my front tyres, tracking is so far out they have worn right down to the canvas on the inside, I knew one rear tyre was on the way out, but now I need three!

Dammit.

Mind you, got a price of £130 for 3 new tyres.

Budget tyres from quick fit using a trade discount.

How much should I pay for rear discs and pads?

I need a o/s/r hub backing plate now as well.

Anyone have one?

Thats not tracking thats out, I bet its camber.....camber gives a more agressive wear over a small area.

Whats wrong with the rear backing plate?

How can I rectify the camber issue?

The camber can only really be done at a competent tyre garage like Wheels in motion or similar.
As for the back plate.....you can get a clip/washer from a car shop which has a slot in it like the backplate does, and all you need to do is fit this from behind the backplate.....hayho job done 2 mins ;)

Dont think they would bud.
My mate works for a National Autocentre and the one he works at has a kwik fit next door, so he (and me) can get a trade discount.

When I fitted new shoe retaining pins there was a small washer type retainer in the fitting kit, but I couldn't see any access to the rear of the backing plate.
