Central locking

Hi, astra 1.7 deisel estate 1999 .
Remote key wont lock or unlock off the key fob , ive tried the spare key with new batteries in and it still wont work . Checked all the fuses , the car locks and unlocks ok manually in the door keyhole .
Any idea what it could be ?

Tried resynching it? Ignition on and press the buttons.
