Ok I'm kindof freaked out now. He said yesterday he has a headlight washer unit that I'm looking for I need it for mot. I've sent him the money via paypal. What's the chances of me receiving this part.
As Hotel21 asks, how did you get to know he had the part for sale?  This site? Another site? If this site, did he contact you, or you contact him?

Too late in this instance, I know, but everyone should read:
http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=46345.0
and never buy from anyone with less than the minimum postcount to sell.  Even then, there can still be problems.

....
... it's the only thing I need to get me through mot. I will keep everyone updated.

You sure you need this for your Irish 'MOT'  :-\ .. UK mainland MOT doesn't require it working  ;)

Latest changes require headlamp cleaning to work if fitted but not sure its been implemented yet.

If it doesn't turn up can you simply remove the nozzels and cover holes with tape :-\ Not fitted then!

Thats assuming the MOT rules & regs in the OP,s location are the same as they are in GB.Due to the gaellic wording of the address Im not sure if hes in Norhtern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland, butNorthern Ireland has a different MOT  system to the rest of the U.K. (Govt. test centres rather than garages) and the Republic will possibly have something different altogether. Possibly more similar to other EU countries. ;)

I'm in northern Ireland rules here state that if you have hid's you need headlight washers, and working level sensors. Rules only changed at start of month plus if the car has them I want them to be working.

personally , I would prefer to buy from older members with very high post counts and proven selling history..

so if you prefer to buy from new/newish members its your risk imo..

As I said before "I never even thought"
I am only new to site myself and have sold some things with no problems. I like to try and have trust in people and some people like to scam people.
What I would like to know is why would someone say "yeah have that part just give me money and I'll just keep your money and not bother sending you the part and there is nothing you can do about it"
(that's not what he said of course)

At same time who am I to judge he only said that he would send it today so maybe I might hopefully get the part by the latest Tuesday or Wednesday. If I don't get part at least then I can have a good proper rant about it ;)

Don't know if this is breaking any rules but just thought I would let everyone see the messages that he sent me before he got taken off again.
If this isn't allowed to be done please delete.

Latchie, internet is full of scammers in every subject that you can imagine..so unfortunately this site also,  despite the admins all efforts still not totally immune..

If you go back to page 1 of this thread, the username for the posts from Vectra Gsi has changed to MarkeyMarkGsi as a guest.  I assume this means it must have been the same person?  :-\

Any newbie reading this should be assured that most deals go well, I recently bought a part of a member and paid via pay-pal, got a message from the seller to say that the part was not in as good condition as he had thought and offered a full refund and apology, both were respectfully accepted and refund received............The OOF spirit lives on....... :y :y

Totally agree Vamps, abd I think the message has been made pretty clear... Stick with the members that have good post counts and have been part of the forum for a decent amount of time, and you won't go far wrong.   :y

As an example, I recently refunded another member because the car he bought parts off me for had unfortunately been written off, and therefore were no longer any use to him.  I didn't have to do this, but at the end of the day, helping other OOFers out where I can is far more inportant to me than making a few quid.  I know that many of the regular sellers on here share my views too.  :y
