MOT Fail Today
« on: 30 January 2012, 22:06:56 »

On its 12th birthday it passed on everything except corrosion is now starting to take hold...

-nearside front chassis near front cross member
-nearside front chassis under subframe mount
-nearside front inner wing (I can feel the carpet!)

Seems all that salt on the roads last year is doing it for older cars. Tester says he has seen more MOT failures for corrosion this year than ever before. So check yours. This despite the fact I have had this car from new and always washed it myself using a pressure washer up the arches and behind the wheels.

Its going to cost about £150 to get welded up so its going in on Saturday for the work. That will see it through to next year but I fear this could be the beginning of the end.

Only about all the brake pipes being slightly corroded. But I've had the same advisories on those for the last 3 or 4 years. They don't seem to be getting any worse

I suppose Northwich gets more salt than most places with it being mined a couple of miles down the road. It will be worth getting done Mark, your Omegas been well cared for :y
