Crank sensor and oil in plug bores.
« on: 31 January 2012, 13:05:24 »

HI
just had a few jobs to do on my 2.0 Omega, 1 of them was the crank sensor....Following Haynes method sounds like a major job. So i cut down an old 8mm spanner and used the ring end to loosen the torx nut...was a decent enough fit to slacken it. Removed the dipstick tube first and created just enough room to get in. In all took bout 1/2 hour to do.
The other job was cleaning out old engine oil from plug bores, rocker gasket was totally goosed. replaced with OE part, new plugs and changed leads as they were soaked in oil and had gone quite brittle!...Runs a hell of a lot better now.

Your profile appears to say 2.0 CD Elite. There's no such car, CD and Elite are different specs and the Elite didn't come in 2.0 litre form

new to the Omega, seems a replacement drivers door was fitted at some point and has Elite on the trim. Didnt realize the different models etc. Its defo a 2.0 cd. Certainly pulls my caravan better than the last motor. Rover 620...
