Locked out(flat battery)

The battery on my partners mig has gone flat, the car was locked and deadlocked, i have tried to open the door with the key but with no luck, the key goes in and turns but won't unlock, wondering if the mechanisim frozen, has anyone else encountered a problem like this??

Turn the key past it`s point of resistance, you`ll need to force it. Be advised that the doorpin may not pop up

it will unlock  :y  put in key turn clockwise (could be very stiff) lifting handle at same time, the doorpin might not pop up but it will unlock  :y

Thanks for the replys guys it was frozen solid, 10 mins with the hairdryer cured, really falling out of love with the car atm, maybe once cats are replaced next week it will restore faith:)
