Calibrated speedos were only 150MPH.
I wouldn't describe them as 100% accurate either. Calibrated means that they were verified to meet a certain spec. when new, with the tyres which were then on the vehicle. The spec might, for example, have been +/- 5%.
My opinion is that they just don't deliberately over-read like the retail speedos.
i have noticed that the speedo is smack on!! well on the original 205 65 15s that police had her sent out with...
on 3 satnavs (1been a road angel) all 3 inc speedo all correct at 30 40 50 60 70 etc
im now running 17s on 245 40 17 all round & did the same test... but now speedo is 1mph out at 30mph (29) & 2mph out at 60 (58)
about 3mph at 90 but doesnt seem to be any more than 4mph out all the way up to end of clock but still not quite on limiter at the *50mph mark... (navs say *46mph havent hit limiter in 5th yet keep runnng out of road..
so what is top wack for a 3.0 MV6 on Manual 2.5 wide ratio Gbox with a 3.9 diff??
& before i get comment after comment saying speeding wrong etc etc (i know) 90% of the time im crusing at 65mph on motorway & 55 on Aroads mainly to save fuel & 30 dead in built up areas! & blast runs are done on clear dry M roads at 2am...
on my dashclocks i do have the calibration sticker from nottingham, so was it only the police car that had the 150 clocks???
