Tractor in the Lakes
« on: 24 March 2008, 20:13:51 »

The longest trip I have done in the tractor to date was a few days up in the Lakes.

Below, tractor halfway up Hardknot, with Wrynose Pass right in the background.

Must say, apart from dipstick tube falling off, tractor did the 850 miles without incident and acheived over 39mpg, despite being booted everywhere (including several incidents of loss of rear end traction going up the passes ::))

Took ages to find a picture that didn't show how cold it was - most of the pictures of the passes show the snow ;D

We had a picnic in Wrynose Bottom - the flat plateau between Wrynose pass and Hardknot Pass.

Done that trip many times, Jaime.
When my granddaughter was much younger, she wrote in a holiday report for her school that she had been 'up a rhino's bottom'.

It was that, or a short spell at Her Majesty's pleasure, including sharing a shower with Big Winston....
