Spanner twirling in SE Essex
« on: 22 October 2006, 12:04:52 »

All going well I'll collect my 2.5 Omega some point this coming week.

I havent worked on many vauxhalls before...mainly suzuki motorbikes (built my own streetfighter drag bike) and worked mainly on ford cars 4x4 sierras mainly.

On my to do list for the next few months are:

Fitting uprated lowered springs all round (looking at 20mm drop) - this I can do on my own
(Any one got some nearly new uprated shockers both front and rear?)

3.0 cam swap - will need help and offers..lunch and stellas on me

3.0 throttle body swap - can do on my own

Considering cruise control as I will do being quite a few lengthy drives for work training.

Are the brake calipers on 3.0 or 3.2 'stronger' than the 2.5s?
Are 3.0 brake discs bigger/thicker than 2.5s?

Anyone prepared to lend a hand with a new Omega owner?

Pre 97 2.0 had smaller discs. Facelifts have vented rears. Other than that, brakes same on all models...

Fnar Fnar LOL :)

So you close to the Treacle Mine then?

You ok for giving me hand doing the cam swap?

Have you got a locking kit? I guess I'll need one when I comes to putting the belt back on
Unless there's a way to remove cams and not disturb the cam wheels and belts? ? ?

I would offer to lend you my V6 locking kit, but it hasn't been returned yet by the member of this forum who borrowed it ... however, if the job's been put on hold it may get back in time ...
