Take it up the chain - are they really happy to let it go to auction andf get no more than 2500?

Remind them of that - easy way out for them - or follow it to auction and buy it back for a fraction of what it would cost otherwide

excellent idea.if you can do a bit of digging/bribing to find out which auction they will use you could probably pick it up quite cheap  

It'll probably be Manheims, most of the big lease companies use them.
I agree tho, if you want to keep it.......give it back and follow it to the auctions. Remember tho if you paid for the tax disk, take it off before handing back and send off for a part refund........coz you can bet the lease company will if you leave it in the Omega.

since the budget and with recent fuel increases cars like this will lose value fast.i wouldnt take too much notice of book prices etc;......are the cars you are looking at actually selling for those prices or is that what they are being advertised at ?

This bloke seems to shift them, he has just updated today having sold another 2 above 6K.

I had my CDX from him and i believe someone else on here had theres from him............he is expensive but he has the demand for them....he moves his stock pretty quick...........all his cars are mint and nothing is too much trouble for him on his after service....he gives 12 months warrenty in the price.

Does anyone know what a 2003 2.2 manual Omega CDX with leather and colour satnav &  sunroof is worth.  Its got under 60k on the clock... Its pretty good condition with new tyres all round.
Its a lease car thats coming to the end of its lease & can be bought or given back...

Dont know about the technicalities of the lease deal but I'll check the book price in Glass's guide at work tomorrow. At the moment most large petrol engined cars are struggling to do anywhere near book price at auction. I would guess that if you went to the auction you would get the car for 2K or less. Only obstacle would be if there was another bidder who wanted the car as much as you. We have a 2001 facelift 2.2 for sale, 70k with history at £1995, usual dealer package etc. and we haven't had a single inquiry in 6 weeks. I know the CDX is more desireable and newer but at the moment you struggle with thirsty cars.

the 5k is residual after 3 years (I think new book price was like 23-24k but with fleet discount it was 18k ish) The trouble is theyre saying that even though the car is now 5 years old they cant recalculate the price... Omegas seem do depreciate more than most cars, but take a look at that link a few posts back... some dealer seems to be able to shift them at 8k...

I noticed his location, in one of the most affluent areas of the South. If he really is getting that sort of money then the cars must be truly immaculate or he is one hell of a salesman. The alternatives to Omegas for comfort, space and being nice to drive are probably still in the 20k plus bracket when new. If you want a large executive saloon with all the toys then his cars are an affordable alternative. Still think that they are overpriced though.

I got mine from him and would highly recommend his service. Not only was the car I got beautifly prepared, but when I discovered that the (normally standard) self levelling suspension had been replaced - and he didn't know this either - he arranged for the suspension to be replaced even though it was not in any way faulty. I phoned him on the Monday, the suspension was changed, for free, on the Thursday.

I agree.. he is not cheap...  but you certainly get what you pay for from him. If you want a cheap motor, go to ebay or a real auction .. but you have added risk, with this guy you don't.
