It occured to me today there are things that you've either forgotten to do, or been putting off that once they have been left so long, they just become part of the car!

What quirks / niggles do your Omega's have that you have grown to accept / understand / appreciate / Live with?!


For me it's the "mommy knows best" (thankfully switchable-ish) traction control
The rattly/squaky door cubbyholes
Oh and no drivers door checkstrap - autoclosing door!

All of these to be sorted shortly... ish.

Maybe there is something more broadly appealing that isn't necessarily something broken!?

manual clutch pedal travel distance is a bit long compared to other manuals, but I get used to it..
 
shifter dont disturb me as I drive longer travel models in the past..
 
when making moves in crowded traffic finding a suitable gap is hard as its a bit "long and wide"  
 
arm rest leather looses its shape as you lean on it frequently..
 
roof paint looses its laquer on dark colors as it reaches high temperatures under the sun quickly (you cant touch it) and it freezes mist even above 0 celcius    ( I guess because of its shape air flows perfectly over it even when the car is not moving)
 
standard suspension setup is too soft..
 
when you wash the car there is always water trapped in rear boot corners and leave traces there..
 
and engine area is too tight to work on for my hands....

Elite

1. No matter how much I faff with the bloody handbrake, I still can't get it right.
2. Centre armrest is just a tad too low so i can't rest my elbow on it.
3. When the back loses grip, there's no noise from the tyres to tell me, probably because of cheapo tyres!

2. Flatspot just above idle for about 2-300 revs.

Both seem to attract birdshit

The thing I really like about my car is that I can pull the button to close the window, and then it'll continue to close even after I've turned the car off, closed and locked the door and walked away (I do all this quite quickly) 

Just a little thing but I haven't had a car that's done this before

The clicky doors can be sorted with new plastic washers, I forget the part number but Andy C will help you out, pennies as well.

Having to remember to park mine facing down hill, else the diesel flows back & he won't start (not leak off pipes, I've replaced them).
Lights are adjusted too low & main beam lights up trees & aircraft (thank you Mr MOT man)
Being the wrong colour, because when he's clean he's still dirty (black)

Though depite these I still love him (does that sound wrong)

The bushes that are needed to stop the door clicking and waking all the neighbors  late at night are.....part number....V0090462823.....and cost 0.32p each plus v.a.t...and thats retail...i replaced mine last october takes a couple of minutes ..job done.....nice and quiet now

Takes seconds.
Also works on the centre arm rest when the catch has broken.

Always got to press the interior boot release to get in to the bloody boot, Slight heatsheild rattle that comes out of nowhere at about 20 mph. Apart from that shes a good girl

except the interior has so much silicone polish on it that even duct tape won't stick.
