Why not look for a low mileage Galant if she likes them? I've never minded what reg or how old a car is. It does'nt matter if the mileage is low & the history is good, in fact newer cars with the pretty newer plate can be more troublesome what with all the sensors, dealer servicing etc.?

Unless you really need a newish plate car you could save a pretty penny. :y

Guy, I am with you on age of car, I have no interest on having the latest reg etc, have a private plate anyway... ;D ;D I have run the Gallant and would be the first to buy if the right ones comes our way :y and believe me I have considered going back in time to cars that you could fix without having to have a degree in electronics.... :D :D :D

Way to small with no headroom.
For gods sake try one first!  :y

It's for swmbo who is only little...... :D :D  She said it reminds her of the Gallant we had and she loved that :y :y

We have seen one, and would test drive it first, it's and older car than I would have liked to buy, but low miles for the year and on a cursory look, would seem to be in tip top condition..... :y

Well if nobody else is ever going to sit in it then no problem.

As an example, if I sit in the passenger seat of one my head touches the roof liner........

Exactly the same as me in an omega with sun roof then.

I've been driven while sat in the back of one. Don't recall a head room problem tbh. :-\

Well, today we went to Shildon, to Look at a Rover 75 -Nope. Durham to look at a Subaru Legacy - No, looks too much like the car i have got... ::) ::) Stockton, various and then to Darlington when she was taken by a Honda CRV, but then that might be a bit too big..... ::) ::) ::) Then back to look at the Lexus, still uncertain with it...... ::) ::) ::)
On the drive back home she complained to me that I had not stopped at a garage we had driven past so when we got home we looked at the website........... She is determined to have an automatic, perhaps a small 4x4 says she.... :-X :'( :'( :-X :-X

We both found the website, on separate lap tops, put in Auto and both commented on the same car as we scrolled down, tomorrow we are going to look at a Renault Megane Cabriolet  :D :D :D
I know there are problems with changing the light bulbs on these but it does look rather nice......Brownie points for me on Valentine's Day... :y :y :y

Christ V, she won't thank you for buying a French pile of crap later on.

A bit of pain now will pay dividends long term. ;)

If you have that trouble in an Omega, you will break your neck in a Lexus  :y

I had a Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 7 seater thing for 3 and half years, possibly my best car ever, total reliability, spacious and economical, so not averse to French Cars.... :y One problem has been with car sales when you say what you do not want, BMW, Mercs or the Vectra, when looking for an auto these are the most common cars, we have found..... :D :D :D

No, passenger seat and it was on low setting.

I do like the back fairly upright (in all cars) but the headroom was VERY bad......
