Fitting xenon headlights upgrade.
« on: 15 February 2012, 01:17:00 »

Hi all
Just bought a pair of xenon headlights complete with ballasts. I really should have asked the question before I bought them, but, will they be easy to fit to my 97 omega cdx?
I know about the need of self levelling suspension, which I have and I know that washers are needed, which I intend to do.
The thing I need to know really is, firstly is it possable and if so the wiring ect.
Thanks for any advice

You dont need washers or self levelling to have HID's , been a lot of discussion on many forums about this recently as the new MOT regs are coming in. Self levelling headlights (not suspension) and headlight washers must work if fitted. If fitted being the key point.

Dont expect a whole heap of improvement if you are fitting HIDs, I had a mini facelift CDX with halogens, now I have a Facelift with HIDs. Both were useless. IMHO its the only weak point the Omega has.

I've got the projector style ones at moment but thought I'd buy the xenons. Just need to know about wiring and if it is possible to fit the adjusters I currently have in the projector ones

Thanks. Is it the same principle for the genuine vauxhall xenons?
They are genuine ones I have bought

Yep, but you will need the ballast plugs from the donor

You fit your existing levelling motors into the HID`s to maintain dash adjustment, plug & play
