Drove back from Leeds to Staffordshire (120miles) on Sunday night. The weather on the M62 was terrible.
Then approaching the M6, traffic master (I still subscribe) warned me of 12 miles of stationary traffic. It was right.
Re-routed via sat nav, through various places (don't know just following blindly) to find that the A56 to M56 (think thats right) was closed for seven days

Headed back to the M6 to re-join the traffic. Wife, who had been asleep up to this point, woke up feeling sick. Was quite concerned that she was going to re-decorate the interior of my lovely clean omega, no leather wipe clean seats for me.
Back on the M6, funny fizzing noise. Initially thought it was on the radio but quickly realised that my main beam was switching on and off very quickly. Pushing the stalk into the main beam position and back seemed to fix the problem. However, it returned the very next time I used the indicators. So drove for 50 miles down the M6 with no indicators.
4 Hours after setting off, 120 miles later, we were home. I had to take yesterday off to recover. Fitted a new indicator stalk yesterday, £35 from Vx dealer, which I didn't think was too bad.
One of the worst journeys for a long time...
