Sunroof Question
« on: 15 February 2012, 14:57:26 »

Hi guys,

Had a look on the forum and found a guide in the maintenance section but didn't really answer my question. I want to remove the black aluminium?? strip around the sunroof (as you look at the car from the outside) The paint has started to bubble and I want to bring it in the garage to paint it. warmer  ;D

Any advice as to whether this is possible would be appreciated. :y

Cheers,

Dan.

you will need to remove the roof lining, then you will see the securing bolts, make sure you do all this with the sun roof open, makes it a bit easyer. there maybe a bit more as it was along time since I did mine. takes a long time to do.

The ally 'strip' around the sunroof is part & parcel of the sunroof itself ie it's bonded directly to the glass & doesn't come off.  :y :y Best bet is to remove the complete sunroof & paint it.  ;) ;)
You could use mine to practice your painting skills.  ::) ::) ;)

I still have a complete sunroof assembly in my shed if you fancy a spare one to hone your skills on!
