So just to put thing into perspective.......

1, Leave house at 7.30 a.m. tomorrow, flight leaves heathrow at around 12 noon, arrive Bangkok 6.30 A.M. Thai Time (12 midnight our time), get Taxi to other airport get flight from their at 9.30am their time (3.30am our time), arrive Udon (check ZeeMap :y) 10.30 a.m. 4.30am our time, pick our hire truck mitsubishi L200, Hour and a half drive to the Hoose, with a pit stop at Tesco's on the way.

So should be at the Hoose by 8am our time friday morning 2pm Thai time, opening a beer, sitting somewhere arooond the hoose and falling asleep ;D ;D

concrete turned out to be cheaper than block paving.........when I asked what they would use for sub base on paving, it was'nt the way we would do it eg compacted hardcore, sand base, blocks. the soild gets so hard they just put sand then the paving, result loads of dips in the paving and puddles when it rains.

I suspect they may have just laid the steelwork on the hardened red soil as in the pics and laid the concrete :-X, the depth will be interesting and whether they have put any expansion joints in the road aswell, which should be ideally every 2.5 metres :-/
