Squeally brakes
« on: 24 February 2012, 21:32:07 »

I've always used TC brake components, apart from when I had a very unsuccessful fling with pattern parts, and never had squeally brakes.

GayBoyGixer always moaned about his TC pads squealling.

Due to my little incident, I'm not well enough to change my brakes, so GayBoyGixer came up last weekend and replaced the front discs and pads.

Now they are squealling like a pig.

Am I making 2 + 2 = 5 ;D ;D ;D

So, here we are finally. One question.

Does copper slip stop your brakes from squealing? There only two answers to this. The only correct answer is.... NO!

For those not present, these where fitted exactly as TB requested. At EVERY stage he was asked do you want this, that, the other.

Hi did say he wanted copper slip. Needless to say, I felt he was able to do that bit on his own.  :-X

I then fitted the pads, and there was copper shite everywhere from that point on.

And No Andy. I haven't.  ;D.  (that's a lie actually, it's open, think I've used a thumbnail full at the most.  :). )

I looked at the brake discs on the TD, while it was up in the air topping up the gearbox...

I think I've found out why it doens't stop too great...  :-X ;D
