The US like a child aged society lives her own games with weapons. Every society get through several phase of social evolution and one of these phases is what we can see nowadays ... When I was a child I liked to play war and weapon related games as others did around me at the time. If America reach some "adult" age as society they will stop playing war.  (I hope.)

Is it a narrow minded comment or just a reflection on a popular saying that is plastered by the media everywhere. Can get a bit catchy, can't it??

I work with a few of these 'gun crazy' people and apart from their fixation with the ammo they need for the 'perfect' shot and the fact that almost everything they own/wear is in some sort of camo pattern, by and large they are not bad people.

Saying that, it may be because we are all of us not in our own country and so behave differently.

i was referring to the fact of making it legal to take guns to school. clubs and public buildings which i think is absolutely crazy so where does it all end the law which did allow people to carry guns which will now cover everywhere you go including places of worship. Wasn't there another 4 people killed at school in America at the weekend??

honestly, the guns cant pull the trigger..  maniacs anyway find weapons and carry everywhere.. let the normal people protect themselves imo.. here, you have to have license to carry a gun..  but many people carry them without license..
and there is no serious punishment if police catch you with a gun without license..
 
from experience , several times in fights I have faced guns, although they didnt use it..  (or I wouldnt be here )
 
I dont have .. but there are several occasions I would prefer to have it..

as its an important subject, just wanted to say few things more..
 
when you start to give guns , you have to train people for proper use..  thats another problem..
 
serously, you must not allow anyone other than police,  but if you permit people to have it with some fee
 
than everyone must have it or they are totally defenseless..
 
it was not like that until 1990s but some texas cowboy politician who was a prime minister allowed it..
 
and cause more trouble..    
 
but at the same time when terror started to rise up,  it became a must..
