Worthwhile upgrades?
« on: 29 December 2006, 17:52:39 »

Just browsing on E-Gay as you do and found a couple of rear sunscreens as well as crusie modules and stalks for my 1998 model.

(I think on the mini-facelift 1998 models cruise is just a plug a play affair, no ECU re-programming though please correct me if I have been given duff info)

The 'spare' lead(s) inside the left side of the boot, are they the power leads for the sunscreen?

and as for cruise I have been told and read that the module/actuator lives on the inner wing but I cant find the harness connector....will it be lurking under the windscreen scuttle/tray?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Still waiting for late Jan early Feb to fit the 3.0 cams. Ride is good on the new irmscher springs and shocks. Need to go back to Wheels In Motion soon for the 2000mile final fine tune.

Also probably looking for a set of 17" or 18" rims...but cant find any in sensible money....most seem to be cicra £700+

Cruise loom is bolted to top of drivers side front suspension turret.

Rear blind loom is a 3 pin plug, up under shelf on left hand side...

Quite big, 10 pin plug, some people confuse it for the diagnosics plug....

Remember, the stalk needs to be the 4 wire stalk (about £30 +VAT new, not worth buying 2nd hand).

I seem to recall the cruise throttle cables are different between the different engine sizes...

Worth knowing, esp if they are brand new, and not recon stuff should by other companies. Recon ones don't last (assuming they work at all)

Here's a picture of where it should be sitting. It's the plug between the turrett and the brake fluid bottle.

Also, the cruise unit is the cube shaped unit under brake reservoir, to left of exhaust in that piccy...
