Check the relays in the engine bay that is an easy test and cheap quick fix.  I had the same symptoms (occasional stalls when hot, cranks but no start, starts when cooled down) in my 2.6.

My notes say

"2 stalls and refusal to start for 5 mins.  cam sensor changed (made no difference).  MAF unplugged (made no difference)."
"Bosch crank sensor installed,  second hand cam sensor installed still won't start (also old crank sensor tried and 3 pattern ones).  No fuel pressure but valve wet with fuel."
"new Bosch fuel pump bought not installed (have to remove towbar)."
"FIXED! black, passenger side engine bay fuse box" and "Drivers side purple relay fuel pump defective coil, contacts temporarily clamped shut"
"fuel pressure now checked 3.6bar at rear engine take off schraeder valve. Supposed to be about 3.7bar"

Just bought some decent fully syn Mannol 7551 oil at under £10 per 5 litres  :o and it got me wondering why it was so cheap.  The spec I bought is API SN/CH-4 A3/B3 and MB229.5 (which is best spec Mercedes say for my 2009 non turbo CL500, better than the other spec MB229.3 semi-syn).

I wondering if I would get any benefit from SP grade: "Introduced in May 2020, SP is designed to provide protection against low-speed pre-ignition (LSPI), timing chain wear protection, improved high temperature deposit protection for pistons and turbochargers, and more stringent sludge and varnish control. API SP with Resource Conserving matches ILSAC GF-6A by combining API SP performance with improved fuel economy, emission control system protection and protection of engines operating on ethanol-containing fuels up to E85."

Maybe they are selling off SN because SP is better - took them 4 years though.

Net immigration figures out today of 685,000. :o :o :o :o
A 10% drop from the year before:

Net migration to UK fell 10% last year, ONS says https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/ce99y7l741po

Adding context to a big scary number? It will never catch on. Nobody wants to know that 685,000 in a population of 68million is a terrifying 1%....

Well if you want context, 685,000 is not far short of the population of Bristol.

How many homes are there in Bristol?
How many Schools are there in Bristol?
How many GP surgeries are there in Bristol?
How many hospitals are there in Bristol?
Etc,etc,etc

If you abolished Bristol and dispersed all the Bristolians around the UK, no one would take much notice as it wouldn't have much impact on communities around the country, but do it year after year and people start to see the effects in their area.

There are at least 8 RHD part numbers. Can't narrow it down without a lot more info, so you really need to get a part number of the current unit.

Does your car have servotronic variable assistance power steering? If it does, there will be an electrical connection on the side and a square box solenoid - like this...

If it does not, then there isn't an electrical connection, and no square box, like this...

Wrist pin retainer and I suspect a chunk of piston, that circlip is not working its way past the piston without damage and the little end pin will be rubbing on the bore scoring it. Strip down time.

Although this doesn’t change the outcome of a strip down, if memory serves me correctly, the V6 piston Gudgeon Pin clip can drop out and get past the piston with no damage as the piston doesn’t have a full skirt. It is cut away for the pin and clip on the sides and as the top ring, middle ring and oil ring are above the gudgeon pin, it has nothing to stop it falling downwards. The full skirt IS on the con rod stroke sides. As said above though, the un-restrained pin will do some damage. I may be wrong and stand to be corrected without being offended.  :)
As I say, it changes nothing as the clip needs replacing to stop the pin moving, so a strip down/rebuild is inevitable.
Not what you need to hear I know.  :(
Just as well, really...... tosser  ;D

Well, within reason.  ;D ;D
You know I love you really  :-*

Assembled finally GM "pneumatic" rear shocks to my 2001 Omega (bought them 2017). Springs there were quite tired and when towing caravan rear side went too down. Now it is adjustable and with a small pressure I lifted rear side to same height than front side having quite new springs. Now all four corens are about 685mm from arc to floor. Car stands in very nice position.
