hello all. my radio is in safe mode but i cannot get it to work even with the code?? is there a special procedure when inputting the code as i have no book!

hello all! i took my standard radio out today as the dash display is not working. when i refitted it the display says "SAFE" and it wont work now. i dont have a code for it so im wondering what to do now??? any ideas please?? cheers  gary! :y

thanks for that albitz! i was at the point of the scrappy but i will defo give that a go! :y how much does it cost for the heater bypass valve to get done?

apart from this the car is running like s??t aswell! its fine when its cold but as it gets warm it splutters and looses lots of power! when i put it in sport mode and put my foot down its ok in high revs but the autobox dont seem to know where it is!

i do about 16 miles a day in it to work and back its using about two inches of water a week from the header tank!

hello all! went to do an oil change today and found lots and lots of mayo in the filler cap and a slight trace in the dipstick! i think its safe to say my head gasket has gone and theres no way i could afford to get that done! its off to the scrappy i think! :'( :'( :'( :'(

im just thinking of more reasons for this problem! about six weeks ago i had a bad fuel leak and found a badly corroded fuel filter! all i did was replace the filter (and lost loads of fuel in the process! did i need to de pressure the system first? maybe ive got an air block in the system!

done that! it seems to be ok when i use 2! when in D it just dies and looses power! it was always ok i D in any condition but now the autobox is all over the place because of the engine!

well! the car is in very good nick! under the body looks like a 5 year old car, no rust on the ball joints or anything! it has no history and i think the last owners has treated it like an old dog! its just running like s@@t and is eating fuel like a 747! i think its worth sorting though as its like a rocket when in good form but i wish i had a manual box!

thats funny you should mention that as it seems like a ignition/electric fault! its a complex car compare to what ive had before (mainly turbo diesel 4x4) so i cant get my head around it!
