Central locking problem
« on: 19 February 2013, 17:19:49 »

Hi all, over the past few days my Omega has developed a Central locking fault on the drivers door sometimes it locks and sometimes it doesn't, it works fine when Using the old-fashioned way key in the door then turn  ::) just like the 80s, early 90s cars  ;D . Any ideas on a quick fix for this annoying problem ?

Thanks in advance.
 :)

Try the reset of the central locking

1. key in ignition and turn to lights come on (must be done within 10 sec)
2. Press the lock or unlock on remote fob/key until the doors lock/unlock
3. Turn off ignition
4. Try locking the car with fob/key whilst in the car, (at least if in the car you can get out easily)

If I have missed something I'm sure someone will be along for the pointer

nothing wrong with the key though its the cars drivers lock which is playing up. It also sounds lazy when it does work on the drivers side  :-\

Approx £65 + VAT from Andy C if I remember correctly, breakers on here sell them for approx £20.

It's quite a fiddly job if you haven't done it before but 30 - 45 mins should see the job done

Bloody hell that's a bit much for a little switch thingy  :o how much from a regular VX dealer £1000  :D ?

Might well be just using the locking mechanism the old fashioned way at these prices.
