« on: 05 October 2011, 16:06:46 »

Hi all, due to the fact that my gear lever cap is scratched (Matted) i am looking for a replacement but can find nothing on ebay. It seems that most places only sell a whole knob and some are way too expensive. Does anyone have or know of anyone who has one of these as in the attached photo???

Here it is...

Many thanks.

Hi guy's, i can only list these in this section as it seems the most suitable. I have around 80 copies of Total Vauxhall Magazine from very early copies (2002) all the way to very recent editions (2011) for sale. I will be listing them on ebay soon but wanted to give you all first refusal here at OOF. They vary in price from £1.25 + £2.50 P&P (4 copies with loose cover), £1.75 + £2.50 P&P (for the vast majority) and £2.00 + £2.50 P&P (earliest and latest copies). I will gladly accept Paypal payments (details given on sale) or cheque (but this will take longer). Please PM me with any questions or requests. For multiple sales, i will do P&P for an extra 50p per extra copy after the first.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Will a new head unit fit?
« on: 03 September 2011, 17:55:02 »
Hi guy's, just looking through my latest copy of Total Vauxhall and noticed an Astra Van with a CD30 MP3 head unit fitted. I was just wondering if one of these would fit into/work with my Omega F/L.
Obviously both are double din head units, so would the CD30 plug straight in?
Would i still be able to use my steering wheel buttons?
Would i have to put in a AUX port for MP3 player use as it does not seem to have a jack in the front of the head unit?
If so where would i find the required leads/jacks?
 :-? :-? :-? :-?
Hope you can help guy's. Thanks.

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Battery charge problems
« on: 31 July 2011, 18:36:54 »
Me again guy's, the Miggy has been off the road for a while now (driver licence medical reasons) and the battery has gone completely 100% flat now. Even before this i seemed to be having a bit of trouble with the battery not seeming to hold a charge. Anyone have any ideas as to why or if this is common???? Thanks.

Hi guys, Been having a few problems with the subject item. I drive my 2.0 Miggy for a short while and see the display rise to operating temp (around middle of dial) as it should. Then it suddenly drops to it's lowest (bottom) reading as if it has lost it's electrical feed. Is there any way of putting this right. This sequence can occur several times in a journey and i only worry because if there were an overheat then i might not figure it out until it's done too much damage. Can anyone help? :-?

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Stereo head unit
« on: 31 March 2011, 10:15:33 »
Are there any head units that would fit a facelift omega with MP3 port at all as this will save me from carrying around all those cd's which keep getting scratched?
In the old days all head units were more or less one size/style but now they are much bulkier items the model currently in mine is a CD player/radio as was standard for a GLS (i think it is a CAR600???).

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Front Fog Lamps
« on: 30 July 2010, 18:39:47 »
My miggy was NOT fitted as standard with front fog lamps or the relevant dashboard switch. I have found the lamps and switch available to buy but need to know......Is the wiring already in place at both ends or will i need to feed the wiring in myself before fitting and would i also need to modify anything else like brackets/clips behind the front grille blanks?????

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Reverse Light Switch
« on: 30 July 2010, 18:44:08 »
Will it be easy to remove and refit a reverse lamp switch to my 5spd manual g/box as i am not sure where on the box to find itor it's ease of access. Just to confirm that this is the fault, the car sporadically shows/doesn't show reversing lights when reverse gear is selected?????

Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Possible flat battery???
« on: 20 July 2010, 12:10:54 »
On Sunday night at half past midnight i drove my miggy 4 miles home from the bus garage where i work. During the journey eveything went normally (the only light on the dash was the engine management amber light due to a failed cam sensor) and i parked the car with the radio/cd player off,a/c off and lights off. When i went back to the car at 8.30am on Monday, EVERYTHING was dead. The battery was bought brand new in Nov 09 and is a high output diesel one (my miggy is a 2.0 petrol straight 4 manual). I have had a battery replaced under it's guarantee but just wondered if there might be another underlying cause. Any help might be useful.

My Omega facelift 2.0 GLS 16v W/2000 plate has a late type 3 button remote fob which needs new microswitches and hence i can only open the car manually by the key itself. When i do however, the hazards flash (inbuilt/factory security system?) and these only go off when the ignition is switched on. Lately the left hand side indicator lights all stay on (or come on while i am driving and stay on) which is obviously a legal problem on the road. Could it be that by not using the fob, that i am not disarming the security system properly and hence these lights coming on in this way and would a replacement fob solve the fault or is there another answer? Any answers may be useful.

Is it a simple job to have the power sounder reconnected????
