The sun has just come out up here in bonnie Scotland so thought I would share this joke with you ( do not take offence as this is passed to you all 3rd hand).

Short haul aircraft taking off from airfield down South of England.

Announcement over the intercom....''Good morning every one, this is your Captain speaking, we are travelling at 8,000 ft. at a speed of 350 Knts. I must remind you all to keep hold of your valuables as we will shortly be flying over Liverpool.''

 ;D ;D ;D

Been looking at recent posts on the for sale bits. Am i right in thinking that we are getting a lot of 'newbies' on here trying to off load parts for Megas cos' its free and they have no intention of carrying on with their membership after they have off loaded said items/car? :o :o

i know there will be genuine new members that this will not apply to and i apologise now to them. What do the other members think? :-X

Hi peeps,

Was mind in neutral trawling fleabay and came across this advert, 220113313327  .

Looking at the spec it says that the car is a 3.2 but on the description 2.5 ! I sent the seller a question on the correct engine size and he came back with ' e-bay fills in certain parts of the description and would not let him put the correct engine size in, car is a 3.2 and has always been a 3.2'.

1. Is this correct, as i do not have any experience in selling on fleabay?
2. Is it a straight car as the pictures only show the front.

Not saying if i am tempted at this point or not, but knowing how rare 3.2's are the price is about right. No part does it say it has been in Police custody and it has a sunroof, by looks of the picture, so do not think that it will have been in Police use as they usually have the extra kit on the roof.

Hope this question wets the forum's appetite for discussion.

General Discussion Area / Up, up and away........
« on: 06 April 2007, 11:40:44 »
Went through to the local town and bought a pop up gazebo. Up here we can have all the seasons of the year in 12 hours or less. Have had a lot of the tubular metal gazebos and only last with me till the first piece of fresh air blows through the space.

So crack of sparrows went out into garden with new gazebo. Nice strong construction and only slightly more than the thin metal ones. No i am not trying to sell you one, just making sure to my self than i have made a good decision for once.

Any way after fighting to get the thing out of the custom bag and banging my shin on the metal i thought that it will need more hands to the pumps.

Go in and got Mrs DaveL out. Struggled with putting thing up without cutting fingers off. After 5 mins of falling over and cussing Mrs DaveL asks if i have seen/read the instructions. :-[ :-[ Of course not it is only a simple tent how hard can it be? :-X

Again went on for another 5 mins saying that there must be some major part missing and need to take it back!!

Mrs DaveL finds instructions, reads, pushes on two parts of the metal canter levers and wallah up pops the gazebo. :o :o :o

So thinks i we now have a structure in case of bad weather at the Easter meet at Loch Lomand and an expert to put it (gazebo) up. :y :y

Result. :y

General Discussion Area / What an improvement!!!

Have just finished putting back the throttle body onto my 2.2 Omega. Straight away the engine was smooth and responsive.

The car has been looked after by the VX garages before i bought it now nearly 1 year ago. >:(

A big thank you to Mark for writing the How2 on cleaning the throttle and breathing pipes. The crud that came out i could not believe. :y

Now just waiting to get into the local stealer for the auto box software update. ;D

General Discussion Area / Arnt they wonderful......
« on: 20 March 2007, 19:22:23 »
Got home from work yesterday to find a rust bucket BMW parked on the public road. Did not take much notice but one of the neighbours enquired if it was mine, cheek. >:(

Noticed that the front screen was broken, drivers seat thrashed and tax disk lapsed end of January this year. Anyway went in to have my tea and forgot about the heap. Next thing i know there is an almighty noise like a jet fighter taking off, trust me i know. :o :o

Went outside and saw a bunch of yooths taking off in the Beemer. Thought well that has sorted out the parking problem.  :y

This morning as i went off to my employ, some say relaxation class, the insult to the law abiding public was back. When i returned to-night saw that tax disk was now going to run out end of July this year. Thought well it could not be all that bad then. Being a nosey git i looked closer at the tax disk and it was showing a totally different reg on it. Also the tax paid was nil. Thinks i well that is wrong. ::) ::) Talking to said neighbour from previous night, seems they contacted local Police with details. Constable arrives looks at said car and said 'i'll be back' in that great Arnie fashion.

This saga is bound to continue.....

Is it the international time line that runs through my part of the U.K or does the site have a timing problem?

Time on my Mickey mouse sun dial shows local time as 09:10 but this posting will at a guess show 06:17.
