At the TRIC (Television & radio industries club) awards a couple of days ago they made the mistake of allowing a public vote for the best news presenters.
Farage won, beating the expected winner Susanna woke Reid. The great and good from the media industry who were present made their disgust and outrage known by shouting and booing throughout his speech.They then sent two flunkies onto the stage to escort him off while he was still speaking.
The TRIC organisation shit their pants and deleted a tweet congratulating him on winning.
Interestingly, during the speech,  he answered a question I have long wondered about.
How are viewing figures produced ?
It turns out there are boxes placed in 5300 homes which tell those concerned what is being viewed, and the viewing figures are then produced from them.
So, the figures are utter crap and they can make them say whatever they want them to.

I think if it was a matter of having U.S. accounts I think he would realise where the problem lay. He is pretty experienced in financial matters.
If it is what it seems, what do the rest of us have to look forward to when the cashless society / social credit system arrives ?
Im too old to care about what it will mean for me, but I fear for my childrens generation and any children they may have.

His banking woes have been going on for a few months though, so nothing to do with that.

Seen elsewhere that Wings Over Scotland the Scottish Nationalist indy activist/blogger has also had banking problems, so it's not unbelievable that the Establishment are leaning on their friends in the banking world to do their dirty work for them.

The US financial industry is still far more relaxed than the UK.

Just bought a load back from a finance conference in Nashville. Much easier to make a lot of money in the US apparently...

Although I can't help but wonder if the likes of Travelex aren't trying to create a situation where the Dollar, Pound and Euro are all 1:1 if their retail rates are anything to go by Obviously this is how they make their money but even so, it's telling when you get better rates from a cashpoint overseas.

Meanwhile, O2... Won't be getting my business. 

Preordered a new phone on Monday, with a view to collecting it this week and setting up a brand new contract, (currently with 3), and had to do this in store as we get a modest discount on O2 tariffs. So left a £50 deposit. And was slightly irritated by the spotted yoof that initially served me and kept directing me do do everything on line. Even after pointing out that I had to do it in store for the discount. Dealt with his manager in the end after observing that his staff seemed to be quite set on not selling anything.

Get a text yesterday saying that it was in store to collect from today.

Made a point of detouring there to collect it. Obviously it wasn't there and no record of it arriving and the manager coincidentally has the day off.

Being stubborn, I have just ordered it direct from the manufacturer and expect it by Saturday and will simply pop my 3 sim in it and go from there.

Next fight will be getting the deposit back

Not excusing the spotty yoof or anything, but I expect that they don't get commission when they deal with someone coming in with a staff discount, so they'd would rather deal with someone paying full whack.

Got involved in a little road rage incident this afternoon. 

Coming out of Avonmouth on a big roundabout heading for the M5, a Porsche just in front of me in the inside lane started to drift into my lane forcing me into the outside lane which fortunately was empty. I beeped him and he started jumping up and down in his seat and 'waving' at me! 

We pulled up at the lights and he opened his window and was ranting and raving at me. I heard 'Effing prick..'    The lights went green and there was room for me to duck into the inside lane which was empty and boot it onto the M5 slip leaving him sat fuming in the traffic in his expensive Porsche. 

I might have opened my window and yelled something like opps off you idiot! at him before leaving...

Nearly took the front off a Bini Cooper that was trying to turn left from the wrong lane. Hadn't even looked, and wasn't impressed when I wouldn't let him in ahead of me

Got a stone chip on the bonnet of the new Mexican yesterday, with barely 700 miles under her wheels.

We are in Wales.....and it seems that a combination of gritty taff roads and soft Mexican paint are to blame.

Getting the fifth email regarding my caravan insurance, it's not due until the 18th of July, everything is in my diary & payment is all scheduled a week in advance so I've emailed them back asking if I've ever not paid it in time .

Damn and blast. Just been out to get some stuff out of the boot of the LC and discovered the rear number plate light housing is gone. Don't know if it fell off of it's own accord or some scrote has nicked it. Not sure if I've got a spare either.
