the wife and I had an argument this morning. She says that having scrambled eggs and beans together is wrong!! The reason: they dont go together ??? I decided I needed help to clear this up so here I am. Is it me who's bonkers or as I suspect, the missus??
-
just asked mrs she says they go together. :y
-
All food goes in the same way and comes out the same way ;) ;D

Scambled eggs and beans on toast, with both red and brown sauce, is one of my favourites for a quick and easy lunch!! The scrambled eggs have to go on first though, otherwise it's very very wrong!! :D ;D
-
Goes together lovely, even better with some melted grated cheese on it! :y

That reminds me of all you can eat American Breakfasts. There we were stood at this counter with dozens of different foods. Most we recognised but two didn't look the part. Grits ( some kind of porridge or Polyfilla?) and a pot of what we were told was melted cheese.
We quickly got the hang of it after watching a family of fat Americans lead the way. ;D ;D ;D

I reckon it depends on the way the eggs are prepared.
Should the eggs be soft and fluffy (in the classic sense) then the addition of beans with their sauce would not appear to me to be in the least appetizing.
For a breakfast I would stick to the eggs only (add a wee bit of smoked salmon or pancetta if you're feeling flush – or buy them when on offer, they freeze well) serve them with some good seed bread toasted and spread with butter and wash the lot down with freshly made real coffee.
Aside from the culinary niceties of whatever the received wisdom is on this question, the important thing is to ensure that a breakfast is taken in the first place as part of any sensible nutritional regime. By adopting such a regime any undue surges or dips in blood glucose levels can be avoided thus helping to prevent overeating or craving foods that may well be detrimental to good health.
Just my two Euro cent's worth - not lecturing or finger wagging. Right?!! :-* :-* :-*

Just eating lunch ? (3.30 p.m.) of two slices of Mrs V's homemade rustic bread toasted with of our free range eggs scrambled with a knob of butter, dash of milk and well seasoned. Washed down with a large glass of ice cold fino sherry and equal measure of 7 Up. Perfect after a hard mornings work. The drink helps with the siesta I am told before you start work again in the cool (30 C) of the evening.

And why anyone would ever want to eat chickens miscarriages which smell like human excrement is beyond me. ::) :-\

Can't stand scrambled eggs :( :(
Fried, poached, boiled ( soft or hard) even an omlette but not scrambled :y :y
I agree Branston beans best by miles :y
-
Eggs are rancid. If you saw something drop out of an animal's @rse what on earth would posess you to eat it? :o
Beans, on the other hand, go with anything. :y
-
Scrambled egg and beans should only be on the same plate if its with a full English :y

Agreed :y

I thought a full english was a cuppa tea and a cigarette. :-\ ;D

If the weather is cold and wet, so I don't feel like a cold sandwich, I find brown bread (best if home made) toasted with a fried egg or two and half a can of Tesco low salt and sugar beans is just the job. :y
If you are going out all day and don't want to stop for lunch, then you can't beat IMHO a full English breakfast including black pudding. :y
-
So general opinion is that they are ok to eat together then. Thats what I thought but you know women, they just wont listen!! :y
-
I used to think ugghh
nowadays my tastes have changed and i like the combo, but I can understand the no no reaction.
I also used to avoid tomatoes and egg for the same reason, but now love it :y :y
