Only thinking of using it on an open fire in the evenings so want it to last a fair bit ... and its local to me so i could pick up and save delivery costs .
-
Im sure local delivery by a traditional coalman would be cheaper if your spending that much. just need a cheap bunker to dump it in.

Trying to think how long a ton load would last :-\ I would have to have it delivered in bags and stored in bags on a pallet or something ...

normally 1 ton is enough for 3 months in our winter.. assuming you only use 1 stove..
but you will need logs to burn it.. in any case you will smoke ;D

EMD coal fire is a trouble.. you need to prepare it.. then clean it.. lpg stoves are easier and cheaper imho.. :y
-
Not sure about the running cost of those gas heaters , will look into it :)
-
Not sure about the running cost of those gas heaters , will look into it :)
here lpg is very cheap compared to natural gas.. and is more efficient.. dont know may be the idiots here pump air from the natural gas line >:( whenever temperatures drop boiler hardly burns this gas.. or russian comrades and iranian mullahs selling us crap.. :(
anyway back to subject, lpg stoves are efficient.. they heat the room quickly and you dont pay an arm and a leg.. the only drawback is it finishes the oxygen after a while.. but cheaper than electricity and natural gas..

I have flueless gas stove, similar to one of these....
http://www.directstoves.com/stoves-direct/gas-stoves/flueless-stoves/ppc_flueless?gclid=CP_Z_ZHtg7QCFbMbtAodU1EA7A
Very efficient...about 95% iirc.....but the cat inside it is supposedly only good for ten years

Yep.. Bottled gas isn't really significantly different in running costs to an electric heater here, watt for watt, except with an electric heater you get all the heat you buy whereas with LPG it depends how efficiently you are burning it.

I still use it in addition to boiler :)
In this country they are very expensive to run compared to any other fuel / heater, I had a one many many years ago, but they are convenient and easy to use and of course, portable.... :y :y
yep.. you can heat any room you want ,very quickly.. :y but bad news its expensive there :-\

Yep.. Bottled gas isn't really significantly different in running costs to an electric heater here, watt for watt, except with an electric heater you get all the heat you buy whereas with LPG it depends how efficiently you are burning it.
from the picture may not be visible but it flows through a multiple hole red hot ceramic .. 15 minute is enough to heat a 7x5 meters room .. :) I use the boiler nearly at half level.. but if I feel cold I open it ..
here electricity become ridiculously expensive after its privatized >:( >:(
