Not sure on the looks, When i first saw the picture at a glance i thought it was a Mazda.
-
I like that myself, but would they really call it Monza or go to some fancy eurocrapo name?
-
Sounds good, RWD, 3.6-litre V6, Shame its a Coupe but maybe it'll be roomy :-\

Hard to say :-\

That was the idea of the Monza ??? ??? That's like saying. Shame my MX5 only has 2 seats ::) ::) ::)
It looks good to me. :y

Aye i know. Was just thinking out loud as if this was a saloon being RWD and with smaller engines (than a VXR8 i mean) available it would have potentially become an Omega successor :-\
Probably be around the 20k - 30k mark maybe even more.
-
....

But what did the Omega replace? Smaller engine options were only available to the Carlton/Omega A to appease the masses. The Senator was dropped. The Monza was a little more upmarket that the Manta ...... a bit like the Monaro is/was now. ;)
-
Well cars just get fuglier each year ;D Now a coming back of the senator straight 6 would be a step in the right direction :)
-
'It has been 16 years since the death of Vauxhalls' last big coupe, the Calibra...'
Who writes this shite ;D The Monaro was sold until 2007, which even my fingers and toes makes only 6 years ago, and it was a damn site bigger than a two door Chavalier hatchback ::)
Looks like it might be a badge engineered Cadillac CTS Coupe :-\ time will tell...

Exactly what I thought. ;D ;D

That's is fugly beyond description.Non of the classy look which should entitle it to be called Monza. ::)

Steve Fowler apparently.

I won't comment on the car until worthwhile pictures are available!
Those 3 are useless; they just show 'Vauxhall's' generic fake-Audi-lite-grille front end.
What the hell does the rest of the car look like?
-
Another...
Haven't seen any rear picture or interior.

It looks like something out of batman films
Or is it another knight rider car we will have them talking to us shortly! ::)
-
Crikey! It's not just BMW! Seems nobody knows where to stop when "styling" a car these days. ::)
-
Oh that hurts your eyes! Don't like the gullwing doors at all
-
Not sure about the doors and sides but I love the head on shots. :y
-
You lot need your cataracts done again.
That is epically beautiful.
Jesus Mary and Dave!
-
And it's a thumbs up from me!! :y :y :y Except for those dirty great gullwing doors. :(
Imagine getting in when it's raining and howling, the whole interior will get a wash!! :o ::) ;D
-
Are the pics really of the same car? Aside from the gullwing effort being truly ghastly, the original white car clearly shows a door handle plus a shut line in the rear quarter panel, just like a normal coupe would have. The grey one just looks like any other 'concept' inspired by the designer eating too much cheese before going to bed.
-
You can never have too much cheese :o
-
its beautiful but if I cant buy it , its ugly ;D
-
If beauty is skin deep, that thing is inside out. Hideous. :)
-
One hundred percent I agree. Albitz :y
-
Its all a matter of personal taste and opinion - personally think it looks good from front view, then imo its all out of perspective. Each to their own though ???
-

+1 :y
this will be the 1st European opel/vauxhall RWD vehicle to come back into the market.. Should be interesting nevertheless how it looks.
EDIT: Well i think it's going to be rwd.. "Although initial reports from Germany suggested that the concept would be rear-wheel drive like the original Monza"

Now look dbug, this has to stop. Your agreeing with ME now. Your making me nervous. :-\

Didn't notice your post - wouldn't knowingly agree with you ;D ;D ;D ;D
No ulterior motive ;)
But wouldn't want to be seen as argumentative for arguments sake ;) ;)
-
At a guess would say that it's based on the Cadillac CTS coupe, and on that basis wouldn't be at all surprised if it's left hand drive only :-\
-

Like both Opel GTs were :( :(

not only that, but
The Monza name has been used before in the UK on an Opel-badged coupe, which later became the Vauxhall Royale.
scuse me??? LATER????
historically ignorant whippersnapper

For crying out loud, most of these pics are for the concept car. FFS. If ever they did bring the concept car into existence, it would be dramatically remodelled, both for usability and for manufacturing.

Someone sounds grumpy.. :o
It's just something to pass the time, It does look as if the Monza will be going into production at some point, The way officially Opel and Vauxhall are talking about it and the major car magazines. Obviously it won't look exactly like the pictures but the overall shape will be close. As for the interior there's no sense to how it would work just looks like something from Star Trek.
Front looks good (compared to how cars are going these days) sides OK, Back questionable. We'll just have to wait and see.

What will be released will be nothing like the concepts. Yet people were looking at it as if it was real.

Fair point :y

Not sure how an Opel Monza can come back if it's not running on a V Car chassis derivative?

We need more variety like these in the VX line up so they can become great value used buys in the future, The VXR8 isn't for everyone we'd all love one but the running costs :-\
Say a few engine's around the 2.5 - 4.0 mark and RWD.
Regarding the Monza there are mixed reports whether it will be RWD or not or even be a "petrol only" car or some kind of hybrid like the Ampera idea. Hopefully more info will be released at the Frankfurt 2013 auto show 10th of September.

Where it will be launched as a 1.6t wwd Insignia Coupe, just before it gets canned as a non starter. Hopefully. I remember going to the Epcot Centre in 1989. One thing at the GM display was a flying car concept with clip on wings. That was doubtless showcased at Detroit the previous year. Can't recall ever seeing one since ::)

Few more pictures... Most from the Frankfurt Motor show 10th September 2013.

Still just a concept car...
Just because it is hypothetically possible to make something, doesn't mean that it will ever be made ::)
