I really do need to build up, looking for quick fix, easy food, high in anything that will build up weight and energy, got to be quite liquid and no curry's........ :(
-
Lamb casserole or beef stew (with dumplins) of course.
-
Are you building up muscule or just want to get fat?
If the former then you need a tailored protein/carb meal plan specific to your training regime, if the latter then lots of pies, beer and kendal mint cake :y
-
if you want healthy and easily digestable food, solution is sea food..
salmon (as an example) is oily and it wont harm your health.. other than that all kinds of read meat (if highly consumed)
will change your blood composition in the bad direction ..
another fact is that if you want to gain weight , it must be muscle weight (by making regular sport) otherwise the fat
you gain later will cause lots of problems..
be careful..

I am presuming that this is to build up after an illness? Best way would be to see a dietician at your GP practice.
Simple solutions include changing to full fat milk and drinking 150 - 200mls three times a day. Adding a tablespoon of butter to cooked food or meals will also help and is relatively easy to do.
-
Kilos and kilos of chocolate. Preferably Lindt or another premium brand. :y
-
Oily fish such as tuna, mackeral etc are full of protein and easily digestable. Scrambled eggs also good, lots of protein and easy to 'process'! Watch for cholestrel though.... Avoid lots of red meat even though it's protein high, it's harder for the body to digest!
As others have said see a dietician! ;) Good Luck!! :y
-
Ooh scrambled eggs.. actually, that's dinner decided! ;D
-
Liver and bacon with loads of broccoli
-
Try "Ensure Plus"Vamps. (Google it). It is a high calorie milkshake. It comes in many delicious flavours.....chocolate.....blackcurrant....orange.....strawberry vanilla and many more. (twelve in total)
Each 220ml bottle contains 330 calories. six bottles will therefore give you the required 2000 calories each day.
It can be had on prescription from your doctor.
I hope this helps.

I was on a diet of that and nothing but when I had a broken jaw which had to be wired shut for a couple of months. Never been able to face a milkshake since. :D ;D............It does work though. :y

It was for a period off approx 8 - 10 weeks, although towards the end my wife also liquidised the family dinners into a baby food type substance for me to suck through a large straw - which was hard work, but worth it. Didnt really lose weight as I recall, but as I was only 11 stone at the time I didnt want to.
When it was mentioned by the doctors that it was doubtful that the wires would be removed in time for Christmas I took matters into my own hands and cut them off with a pair of nips from my toolbox. Not a very wise move with hindsight as my jaw hasnt been right since. It still click and cracks and gets stuck in position several times a day. ::)
Doesnt stop me from constantly talking 'dangle berries' though. ;D

Y'know, I'm not sure. I'll look into that as they would be great for camping in the VW.
I'll get back to you.

In a word, no, not any more. It was a long time since I was last in the arctic and they have changed to 24 hour ration pack multi climate and it's only 3500 cal. Those you can buy, but a tad expensive at 15 quid!!!

I have never seen the bootie Artic rat packs on sale as they are very specialised and quite expensive, but the normal compo ration packs are very high in calories and you can get them everywhere. Just dont expect to have a poo for a week after starting to eat them ;D

Actually poor calorific value particularly as it is a difficult substance for the body to metabolise. What you do get is a lot of unhealthy fat instead.

See a dietician first. There are various forms of Ensure. You need to get the right one for you.

In relation to the OP, I would have thought that pasta - in its various guises - would have fitted the bill.
I would also be inclined to avoid overtly fatty foods high in salt content and foods laden with sugar - as one sees in much of the processed stuff masquerading as food nowadays.
As the other D said earlier, dietary consultation should be further explored before embarking on any course of action.
