my saga continues...2.2 omega automatic....on start up a ticking noise from the engine..this goes away when engine warms up several minutes later....when revs drop to idle the engine is not running lumpy but just sitting with foot brake on and in drive it vibrates up through the car...i replaced one engine mounting as it was split...no difference....other one is ok....yesterday i put her in drive brake on and i felt around the engine,,not realy jumping about...however i did notice that the front part of the exhaust system from manifold back to flexy joint was vibrating quite a bit....i let the engine go cold then removed the chrome heat shield which covers the manifold...i then saw that two studs were broken off in the head...one up top and one directly below nearest the front of the engine...i started her up and sure enough the ticking noise was coming from there...after a while the noise stopped......my question is do you think that although she runs very well while driving could this be my problem of the vibration when in drive and sitting at a standstill...only it is pi...ng me off...and doing my head in .any advice please mateys..thanks..
