General Car Chat / 2.2 dti turbo not coming in

not on a omega though its a mates vectra c 2.2 dti sri today i did his rear trailing arms took it for a run and the knocking has gone but noticed his turbo doesnt work car still drives ok just obviously no guts no eml light and no smoke even when revved hard although there is a whistling sound happens around the time the turbo should kick in am i right in thinking probably a split intercooler hose or one of the vac pipes leaking thanks

not been on for a while been to new zealand for 2 weeks and florida for 2 weeks looking at houses and looking at job prospects and it looks like i will be emigrating early next year mrs and kids want florida personally i dont give a toss where going back to florida in a couple of weeks to have a second viewing of a house and if all goes well will buy it whilst out there already sold my house i was renting out and the one im living in will be up for sale soon cant wait to leave this once was great country that is slowly becoming a shithole

land rover discoveries long story but my daughter has been given a gorgeous horse and a horse box trailor thing now cant tow it with my car but locally there is a near mint rust free never welded L reg discovery v8 3.9 are they any good thanks
