Do you mean the amber light at the bottom of the Rev Counter dail that looks like a engine ?, if so then that is the EML light and indicates a possible problem with the exhaust emissions. There will be a code/s stored so a quick read with a codereader will give you a pointer to the cause

I fitted some bench seats from a Ford Zephyr into a Ford Consul 357 when I was in my Teens, we had to jump up and down on the rear seats to make them fit... but things were different in them days. 

Thanks for that Zirk, but the only thing I feel like jumping up and down on is the bloody Omega!

If it is the main heat exchanger then a 'leak seal' additive is unlikely to be of any use 
It may be just a joint seal on the exchanger connections or even a loose nut
If it is coming from a compression joint then don't be tempted to just 'give it a nip up', undo the joint completely, clean the mating faces/replace the seal washer or 'O' ring & redo the joint.
